Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years experience in Microsoft SQL Server database technologies
- 5 years of experience in a database development role
- Recent experience with SQL Server 2005/2000
- Extensive knowledge of T-SQL language
- Experience creating conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Ability to code in T-SQL
- Familiar with data modeling tools such as PowerDesigner, ERwin, ER/ Studio, or Toad
- Hands on experience developing stored procedures, SSIS packages, SSRS, functions, and triggers
- Ability to take ownership of projects and be self-directed
- Ability to estimate development tasks accurately and meet agreed upon deadlines
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of code promotion, version control, and QA procedures
- Knowledge of principles of database design, data acquisition and data access analysis and design
- Knowledge of stored procedure writing, query optimization, and indexes
- Knowledge of database performance tuning techniques
- Strong communication skills a must
- Knowledge of Excel
- Other Relevant skills: C#
- Knowledge of CLR(C#) SQL functions a plus
- Knowledge of MySQL is a plus
Task Description
- Creates complex analytic queries on large data sets
- Creates stored procedures, triggers, and functions
- Analyzes trends in key metrics
Generates code to extract, transform and load data from production data sources to the data warehouse - Performance tuning of key queries
- Maintains up time demands on the BI system
